How to download and unzip a file
When you see a font you want to use, click the Download button on FontSpace and save the file to your computer. Right-click on the file (it will be a zip file) and click the 'Extract To' option.
Double-click the font in the Finder, then click Install Font in the font preview window that opens. After your Mac validates the font and opens the Font Book app, the font is installed and available for use. Even when you copy the font over, the Windows system does not recognize the font and can’t register it to the system. The reason is because those fonts are in dfont format which can only be used in Mac. To get it working in Windows (or Linux), you have to convert the dfont to TrueType format (ttf). If you want to temporarily install a font, just Double-click the font file and you can use it in your applications (Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, etc..) while it is left open. To uninstall the font, close the Font Viewer.

Bitmap / Pixel Fonts

Certain fonts, such as bitmap or pixel fonts, are best viewed at a specific size. Be sure to turn off anti-aliasing in any software you are using.
To convert from pixel to point:px * .75 = pt (example: 8px is equivalent to 6pt)
To convert from point to pixel:pt / .75 = px (example: 6pt is equivalent to 8px)

Downloading a Font
- Go to Google Fonts.
- Scroll through the list to browse the fonts. Or, you can narrow your results to specific typefaces by clicking on the 'Categories' menu under the search bar. Then, you can select or deselect serif, sans serif, display, handwriting (AKA script), and monospace typefaces.
- After you’ve located a font you like, click on the font name.
- In the upper right corner, click on the “Download family” link. The font will download as a ZIP file.
- Follow the Windows or Mac directions below to install the font on your computer.

- If you’ve downloaded more than one font folder, repeat steps two through seven until you’ve installed all the font folders.
